“Strategic doing” is WRTP | BIG STEP’s critical way of engaging with projects, programs, and goals. This strategic doing propelled us to start and end 2024 in the national spotlight. In January, the former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen toured our Milwaukee office and presented $1.5 million in federal funds to modernize our training facility. Then in October, former President Joe Biden designated Milwaukee as one of only nine workforce hub cities in the U.S. and named WRTP | BIG STEP as the hub’s anchor institution.
“It’s a tremendous honor and testament to the good work that we’re doing every day to align employers with a diverse, skilled workforce, while also creating pathways to economic mobility for Wisconsinites,” says Lindsay Blumer, WRTP | BIG STEP CEO and president.
