SUPERIOR, Wis. (KQDS-TV) – High school students in Superior got a chance to learn more about different career paths within the trades.

The week-long event, put on by the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership’s Building Industry Group Skilled Trades Employment Program, is a part of their Summer Trades Academy.

On Wednesday, students toured the Lakehead Construction Headquarters. But during the whole week, students will also check out local carpenters, electricians, ironworkers, and other trade-related businesses.

One Superior High Senior said he found some comfort seeing a future career field without an office, and more hands-on.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve always liked building stuff,” said Aadien Budish. “I think that’s like the main part. I want to learn about stuff where I can build, and I want to follow my interests.”

Superior is the last stop for the Summer Trades Academy, which holds most of its workshops in Southern Wisconsin.
