DESCRIPTION:WRTP | BIG STEP administers a Highway Construction Skills Training Program that is recognized statewide by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). This program provides credentials and hands-on experiences that connect individuals to careers in construction. This program will make you STAND OUT.* \nClasses are held for 9 weeks\, Monday – Friday\, 9 AM – 2 PM \nClasses include: \n\nOSHA certification\nFirst aid/CPR\nFlagger’s training\nConstruction mathematics\nTool & material identification\nBasic blueprint reading\nCDL preparation\nHands-on projects\nTrades application assistance\nContractor engagement & networking\n\nRequirements: \n\n\n\nValid driver’s license\, permit\, or proof of being on track to obtain license\nHigh school diploma\, GED\, or HSED\nSocial security card\nUpdated Resume\nDrug-free (ability to pass a drug screen)\nSeeking a career in construction\nACCUPLACER Test\n\n\n\nRecruitment/Information Session: \n\nApril 28\, 2025 at 2 PM | Register by April 27\, 2025\n\nTentative Training: \n\nMay 5 – July 3\n\n*This program is funded in part by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and is available at no cost for eligible candidates.\nThe employers recruiting from this program are all equal opportunity employers.
