On Friday, January 26th, WRTP | BIG STEP South Central joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County and the Latino Academy of Workforce Development, Inc. at the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center to celebrate the first 12 graduates of the Careerforce Build UP! Pre-Apprenticeship Training. These 12 students dedicated 12 weeks to hands-on, real-world construction training to prepare them for their careers after high school.
Throughout the 12 weeks of training, WRTP | BIG STEP assisted in facilitating NABTU’s Multi-Craft Core Curriculum, consisting of 120 hours of hands-on instruction which enabled our graduates to receive industry-recognized credentials such as OSHA 10, Fall Protection, First Aid/CPR/AED, and Flagging certifications, among many other specialized skills needed to succeed in the construction industry.
WRTP | BIG STEP South Central would like to thank the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County and the Latino Academy of Workforce Development, Inc. for their continued partnership and support of our mission to recruit, develop, and retain a more diverse workforce.
We are so proud of the hard work and dedication these 12 graduates showed throughout their training, and we will continue to provide them with the support they need to secure the career and life they dream of!
