DESCRIPTION:WRTP I BIG STEP administers a Highway Construction Skills Training Program that is recognized statewide by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). This program provides credentials and hands-on experiences that connect individuals to careers in construction. This program will make you STAND OUT.* \nClasses are held for 7 weeks\, Monday – Friday\, 8 AM – 12 PM\, at Gateway Campus \nServing Racine\, Kenosha\, and Walworth Counties \nClasses Include: \n\nOSHA certification\nFirst aid/CPR\nFlagger’s training\nConstruction mathematics\nBasic blueprint reading\nTool & material identification\nCDL preparation\nHands-on projects\nTrades application assistance\nContractor engagement & networking\n\nRequirements: \n\nValid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a license\nHigh school diploma\, GED\, or HSED\nSocial Security card\nDrug-free (ability to PASS a drug screen)\nUpdated resume\nSeeking a career in the construction industry\n\nMandatory Recruitment:\nSeptember 8\, 2026 | Register by August 3\, 2026 \nClasses Run:\nSeptember 14 – November 6\, 2026 \nSuccessful completion of this program increases your opportunity for a career in the skilled trades. \nQuestions?
