Once a month, under the direction of approved Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades volunteers and representatives, students ages 14-20 will:

  • Develop knowledge and skills as they undertake exciting, real-life projects in Skilled Trades, learn about the educational requirements for a career and receive tangible advice on steps they can take now to prepare and position them for a successful career in the Skilled Trades field.
  • Connect with Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades professionals and become productive stewards of their community.
  • Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, building self-worth and confidence, collaboration and teamwork.

    WHAT IS EXPLORING?
Exploring posts are designed for students ages 14-20 and provide an introduction into a wide variety of career options. The program is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organizations in their communities. The result is a program of interactive activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, and develop.
Exploring exists to teach important life and career skills to young people from all backgrounds through immersive career experiences and mentorship provided by community and business leaders like you. Together, we equip young people with character, leadership and life skills that can be used both today and in their future careers.
To participate, visit Exploring.org, search “youth application” in the top search bar, and select “youth application” under the “forms” column. Fill out application and return to Post Advisor John Zapfel
