National workforce intermediary WRTP | BIG STEP is pleased to welcome Lindsay Blumer as its new President & CEO. After conducting a sweeping national search, WRTP | BIG STEP selected Ms. Blumer to fill the position marking the first time in the nonprofit’s history that a woman will hold the permanent position of President & CEO.

“We are pleased to welcome Ms. Blumer to the team and look forward to the fresh perspective she brings to our storied history,” said the WRTP | BIG STEP Board of Directors in an official statement.

Ms. Blumer is a respected nonprofit organization professional with almost 20 years of experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, entrepreneurship, social enterprise, and innovation. Blumer has worked as a community fellow with United Way of America, designing community impact solutions, advising and developing state government advocacy and policy work in various appointed roles, advancing curricular and program design as Assistant Dean at Ripon College, creating collaborative community-based solutions as the executive director of a domestic violence and sexual assault prevention organization, and developing entrepreneurial pathways at Marquette University.

“I am excited to join the dedicated team at WRTP | BIG STEP and share in the common vision of connecting more people, especially those from traditionally marginalized populations, to family sustaining careers for the 21st century and enhancing the work of our employers and their partners” said Ms. Blumer of her appointment.

Blumer replaced Mark Kessenich, who left after six years with the organization to fill the role of CEO of the Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee.  WRTP | BIG STEP is headquartered in Milwaukee, WI but has satellite locations in Racine and Madison, and partnerships that reach from New York to Washington to California.
